It pays to be Niall Horan's only nephew.

The One Directioner has jetted back to his hometown of Mullingar to celebrate his nephew Theo's first birthday in style.

Horan gifted his adorable nephew with a life-size black convertible toy car, costing more than €300.

And he was clearly happy with his purchase as he tweeted a photo of the tot, saying: "They see me rollin! They hatin!"

While Niall is clearly thrilled to be there for his Theo for his milestone birthday, it's also believed he will be addressing the fact that little Theo's face is being distributed on coins.

Greg and his wife Denise will issue the coins this week to coincide with the first birthday of their son.

The 20ct gold-plated coins will be available to buy online for €22, with the promise of a Twitter follow from baby Theo’s account.

The coins, that will come in a 'beautifully designed box' could also be personally delivered by members of the Horan family.

The little boy tweeted the news from his Twitter account @TheoHOfficial, with the help of his family.

“My uncle just contacted my mum and suggested a coin with my head on one side and a love message on the other. WOW,” was the first message posted.

Niall has just wrapped the European leg of his world tour with One Direction and has made his second visit home to Ireland since Christmas. He and his bandmates are currently enjoying a  short break before the North American leg of the ‘Where We Are’ tour kicks off in August.

One Direction will play three nights at Croke Park
