'Mr Big looks just as good in person as he did on Sex and the City' - locals react to Chris Noth's trip to Cavan
He played the lovable rogue who broke Carrie Bradshaw’s heart on cult TV show Sex and the City and it seems that US actor Chris Noth is even more charming in real life.
The Good Wife star caused a stir in Cavan today after he jetted across the Atlantic to research his family tree following the discovery that he has Irish roots.
The American actor, who played Mr Big on Sex and the City for seven years, is researching his ancestry for the US version of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ for a production company Stateside.
Noth was delighted to discover that his great great grandfather originally hailed from Cavan before emigrating to Canada around the year 1840.
The actor, who has also starred in crime drama Law & Order and ongoing series The Good Wife, was spotted around Cavan Town this afternoon and happily posed for photos during his visit.
The 61-year-old was spotted dining in the local Farnham Arms Hotel and he also took time out of his research to pose for a photo with the staff of Cavan Library where he had been filming for the American version of family tree programme ‘Who do you think you are?’
“He was very charming in real life and made time for everyone,” an onlooker told Independent.ie.
“He had previously known that he has Irish roots but didn’t know where it was in his family so he was very excited.”
“He looks just as good in person as he did on Sex and the City,” added the insider.
