Morocco party plan for Beckham, 40?
David Beckham turns 40 this weekend and is expected to mark the moment with a celebrity party in Morocco.
The former England captain is said to be planning on taking to Twitter to celebrate his birthday and join his wife who has more than eight million followers on the social media site.
She used it to hint at her husband's birthday plans, posting a picture of a dress and even giving the event its own hashtag #DB40.
She said : " What to wear in Marakesh? Vintage Yves Saint Laurent #DB40 x vb"
Among the friends likely to be joining Beckham for the big day is Dave Gardner, a football agent who met him when they were teammates in the Manchester United youth set-up, and his girlfriend US actress Liv Tyler.
Gardner was one of the trio chosen by the former footballer to accompany him on an epic journey 800 miles into the Amazon rainforest in Brazil last year that was filmed for the BBC.
Beckham is a devoted biker - mainly because one of the world's most famous faces is anonymous once he is wearing a helmet - and enthused about his trip to meet a rainforest tribe who had no idea who he was.
Speaking last year, he said: "O bviously as we went along the trip I was being less recognised and less recognised and by the end of the trip when we were with the tribe - they didn't know who I was, they didn't know what football was, and it was incredible."
Beckham picked up almost every football honour going in a career that took him from Manchester to Madrid, and there could be more honours if fans get their way.
A poll for the Press Association showed more than half of people asked thought the former footballer should be knighted.
Beckham already has an OBE which he picked up in 2003 during a day at the palace with his wife and ma ternal grandparents, Joseph and Peggy West.
