Model and singer Nadia Forde was at her mother's bedside when she passed away from cancer yesterday - after the pair were recently reconciled.
Berenice Paolozzi had been battling cancer for some time.
Nadia (25) and her brother Stephen were raised by their grandmother when her parents split up when she was aged seven.
Since then they had limited contact - but they were reconciled last summer after the model learned her mother was getting treatment in London for lymphoma cancer.
Heartbroken Nadia jetted straight to London, where her mum lived, to be by her side.
She said at the time: “I thought we were going to have a mother and daughter connection, everything would finally be okay.
“There is only one thing that is certain in life – death faces us all in the end, and when that comes all of the other worries and difficulties are not important anymore. It put everything into perspective, just how fragile and how precious life is.”
Berenice, who worked in radio and is a former events director, later moved to Dublin to get treatment, and her daughter had been splitting her time between the capital and London, where she now lives.
The family was by Berenice's side yesterday when she passed away.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been confirmed.
