Model Lynn Kelly reveals trolls target her over her weight: 'Some say I'm too muscly or too scrawny'
Model Lynn Kelly has revealed she remains the target of trolls making cruel jibes about her weight.
The former Miss Universe Ireland (27) found herself at the centre of controversy in 2014 when she came under fire for posting a lingerie selfie many deemed too slim.
And now, despite the fact she adheres to a healthy diet and sticks to a challenging gym regime, she still has to put up with mean-spirited comments.
"I still get a few. You get the good and the bad," she said.
"It's not even always people saying 'Oh, she looks so skinny', it's people saying 'She's out of shape' or 'She looks too muscly'.
"People will always have something to say. I have others who say I'm too scrawny."
The Assets model said she knows she leads a healthy lifestyle and tries not to let the cruel words get to her.
"I'm healthy and I look healthy and as long as I'm happy with how I look, I don't really care about what other people say," she said.
"It comes with the job that you have to maintain a certain look. I want that for myself anyway. I do a lot of resistance training and boxing and Pilates. I hate cardio.
"I actually don't block people who leave those comments, I wouldn't bother. If people have time to be doing that, I actually feel sorry for them.
"If I get a notification I'll read it, but I don't go looking for stuff."
She is currently diving her time between Dublin and London, where she is signed to a fitness modelling agency, but said competition is more fierce in the UK and there isn't the same camaraderie among models there.
"I get on with the girls here who I've known for years," she said. "The industry is really small, whereas in the UK I don't really know very many of them. I've worked with a few girls a couple of times but it's huge over there. They're not as nice as they are here, they're not as friendly as they are here, they're a lot more competitive."
Lynn has been with boyfriend Robert Barr for 12 years and recently treated him to a trip to New York for his 30th birthday, but said she's not "waiting around" for a ring.
"It was amazing, really good," she said.
"I got the trip for Rob for his birthday and it was really fun. We walked the whole of New York. We have a few other holidays planned for the end of the year."
