Mischa Barton makes first public appearance since suing Irish mother
Actress Mischa Barton has stepped out for the first time since filing a suit against her mother for exploitation.
The former star of The OC is suing her mother, Nuala Quinn for lost earnings, labelling her a "greedy stage mother".
In the lawsuit, Mischa is accusing her mother of taking the majority of her salary from her film The Hoarder.
The documents say that while Nuala told her she was making a certain amount through the film, she was actually earning more.
Mischa says she eventually discovered through the production company that she was not receiving her full salary, which also included a 10% management fee for Nuala, who grew up in Newry, Co Down.
Last night, the 29-year-old stepped out atthe 7th Annual Annual Kat Kramer's Films That Change The World Screening Series, but did not comment on the ongoing suit.
In addition to the income discrepancies, Mischa is accusing Nuala of kicking her out of her Beverly Hills home after arranging ownership of the eight-bedroom property to be in her name as well as her daughter’s.
Mischa says that her father and Nuala are still “comfortably” living at the house.
An insider informed People magazine that Mischa had been mulling over whether to sue for quite some time, but made the final decision to go forward with a court case when Nuala locked her out of the multi-million dollar home in question.
