Reports have emerged that Mariah Carey will have to pay $500,000 if she breaks the confidentiality prenuptial agreement.
The celebrity pair have reportedly already reached a settlement, with TMZ reporting that the couple's prenuptial agreement features a confidentiality clause that would fine the Grammy-winning singer close to $1 million, which is twice the amount that Cannon would have to pay if he violated the terms. The website says that cannon would have to pay only $250,000
“Carey has to pay $500,000 if she spills the beans,” reported the website, adding that Cannon would just have to dole out half that amount.
The website says that the reasoning for this is because the iconic songstress is worth a fortune, certainly a lot more than her former flame.
“The prenup says Mariah is worth $150 million,” according to TMZ. ”She has so much, $30 million is listed as "miscellaneous." Nick came into the marriage in 2008 with a little less than $500K.”
However Cannon (34), won’t be entitled to all the megastars earnings. Carey (44) starts her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 6th, with ticket prices ranging from a pricey $55 up to $250, and Cannon won’t be getting one penny of those earnings.
The Hero singer said: "I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this because I'm going to be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1's, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them.
"Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I've never done this before. It's a new chapter for me,” she said.
