Little Prince Alexander of Sweden takes centre stage at his christening in Stockholm
Prince Alexander of Sweden took centre stage today as he was christened in Stockholm.
The five-month-old son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia was baptised at the Palace Chapel in Drottningholm Palace in Stockholm and unlike the ceremonies of Princess Charlotte and Prince George, the Swedish royal family allowed photographers inside the ceremony.
The five godparents comprised of the prince's close friends Jan-Ake Hansson and Victor Magnuson, Sofia's sister Lina, her childhood friend Wendy Larsson and Crown Princess Victoria, while Rev. Michael Bjerkhagen performed the blessing.
The royals were out in force to celebrate the occasion with Victoria arriving alongside her husband Prince Daniel and their children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, Princess Madeleine and husband Chris O'Neill with their children Leonore and Nicolas.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were seated next to Sofia's parents Erik and Marie Hellqvist for the family occasion.
Sofia, a former model and reality tv star, wore a semi-sheer white lace dress and white pearl hairband, wearing her hair in a low chiffon bun.
