Lining out: Rugby other-halves at charity lunch
The wives and girlfriends of the Ireland rugby team lined out yesterday in aid of Cancer Fund for Children with a €140-a-ticket Christmas lunch in Dublin.
It was entirely appropriate that it should take place at the Shelbourne Hotel, which is home away from home for the national rugby squad for pre-match stays and the post-match dinners.
Jody Best, wife of Rory Best, the Irish captain, was photographed (centre) with Aine Lacey (left), girlfriend of prop Tadhg Furlong, and Sinead Corcoran (right), who married prop Jack McGrath last summer.
All cash raised goes to Cancer Fund for Children, which has been supporting families for over 40 years, offering practical, emotional and financial support including therapeutic short breaks at Daisy Lodge in Co Down.
Yesterday's Christmas Ladies Lunch will help support the charity's ambitious plans to build Daisy Lodge Connacht, a new therapeutic short-break centre in Co Mayo.
Designer Eamon McGill, who created five gowns for the Brown Thomas festive windows, showed a number of his latest looks at the event.
