Like Kate and Will, Princess Beatrice's love split with Dave Clark might only be temporary
Princess Beatrice's split with boyfriend of 10 years Dave Clark might only be temporary, according to friends.
Much like her cousin Prince William and his wife of five years Kate Middleton who split briefly during their 10-year relationship while at St Andrew's University, insiders say time apart might make them realise what they have and reconcile.
The couple split in July and sent shockwaves through British society as they were expected to announce news of a marriage instead of a break-up.
"I think it might be a William and Kate-type split [the couple split briefly in 2007] - I wouldn't be surprised if they got back together," an insidert told the Daily Mail.
"They are both open to that. As we all know, there are several types of split, and this is of the most amicable kind, with no one else involved. It's just they felt it was decision time.
"Her family are very supportive of both of them, very fond of him and very open-minded about them getting back together. She is staying in the US and not coming back here. They are both terribly upset at the moment."
They first met in 2006 hosted by Pierce Brosnan's son Sean and while Prince Williams might have first introduced them, but these days he reportedly "isn't a huge fan" of the American businessman, who works as a senior advisor to the CEO of Uber.
Since the birth of Princess Charlotte, Beatrice no longer requires the Queen’s permission to marry, and reports suggest there was extra pressure on David to propose throughout the past year.
A source said of the pair: “They both agreed that with no marriage in their future, it was time to go separate ways."
