Leonardo DiCaprio 'has been after Laura Whitmore for weeks' after meeting her at gala in New York

Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly been "taken" with Irish tv presenter Laura Whitmore for nearly a month.

Whitmore, who is dating musician Rory Williams for eight months, hit headlines after it was reported she had caught Leo's attention at the BAFTAs. But according to new reports, the three-time Golden Globe-winning actor has had his eye on her much longer than that.

He first saw the Bray native (30) at the annual amfAR gala in New York and "seemed to really fancy her" on the night, according to heat magazine.

The night of the BAFTAs. where he won the award for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant, Leo reportedly partied the night away with Laura and some pals in his hotel suite, including supermodel Lily Donaldson, in celebrations that went on until 5am.

"Leonardo was completely taken by Laura. She was playing it cool but he made a beeline for her," an insider told The Sun. "[They were] getting on like a house on fire. Leo made it clear he wanted her to come back upstairs to his suite at the hotel to continue the party afterwards."

In a new interview with Hello! magazine, the former MTV star wouldn't be dragged into discussing the rumours, saying: "Everyone was just having fun - there was a lot of dancing," she said.
