Legendary actress Helen Mirren applauded for her ‘subway etiquette’ in New York
Dame Helen Mirren is the “polite subway user of the week”.
The legendary actress is estimated to be worth €45 million, but she is still not above taking public transport.
The Oscar winner graced unsuspecting commuters of the R train with her presence on Thursday as she took her seat in the carriage nonchalantly.
Last month, New York City MTA published a new public service announcements outlining acceptable subway etiquette.
In the guidelines, commuters were asked to avoid impolite behaviours such as ‘man spreading’, nail clipping and pole dancing.
Hence the Internet’s decision to offer Helen (69) a virtual pat on the back for sitting gracefully with her handbag on her lap, despite the fact the seat next to her being unoccupied.
The Queen actress even looked unfazed by the fact she was seated next to a blatant ‘man spreader’.
