Kim Sears gives epic response to swearing controversy at Andy Murray's Australian Open final
Kim Sears was the subject of criticism when her foul mouthed tirade was caught on camera earlier last week, but today she is having the last laugh.
Andy Murray's fiancé was filmed shouting a expletive tirade at his opponent Tomas Berdych.
As Murray's long term partner, Kim (27) has accompanied him to matches all over the world and is a very passionate spectator. However, many believe she took it to another level this week with her choice of "adult language" when watching Murray play against Czech player Berdych last week.
It is believed she said, "F***king have that you Czech flash f**k" with one fellow spectator capturing the statement on his camera phone.
To add to the controversy, the media then "pitted" Kim against Berdych's fiance, Ester Satorova, comparing the size and price of their engagement rings.
At the Australian Open final today in Melbourne today, Kim made the ultimate statement of insouciance in a Parental Advisory: Explicit Content sweater.
Both Murray and Kim's father Nigel defended her, with Nigel joking that she inherited her "potty mouth" from her mother.
“Disgraceful behaviour. She’s always had a potty mouth. Gets it from her mother of course," the tennis coach said. “Quite amazing how much has been made of this, but it’s pretty emotional in that box when you’re close to someone... and it was a feisty match.
“Andy’s a huge figure in the game, so naturally her association with him means there’s always going to be a certain spotlight on Kim," he added.
“I think by and large she deals with it extremely well. I think people are reading a lot into this.”
