Kate Middleton's brother James 'splits with girlfriend of four years' Donna Air
James Middleton has reportedly split with girlfriend of four years Donna Air.
The British businessman (30), who is Pippa and Kate's younger brother brother, quietly split with the tv presenter (38) over the summer, but he is opmtisic they might reconcile. The couple have had an on/off relationship since 2013, denying claims they split in 2015, but are believed to have parted ways for four months in 2016.
There were no signs of cracks in the relationship in May when they attended Pippa's wedding to James Matthews.
"They broke up some time ago. They managed to keep it quiet," a source told the Daily Mail. "James hopes the split will not be permanent."
Last year, James announced his love for his other half, stating that marriage wasn't on their list of priorities, but they were focused on having children. Donna has a 14-year-old daughter with ex-boyfriend Damian Aspinall.
"We are thinking about where we are going next," he explained in November 2016.
"I love Donna very much. Marriage is absolutely not something I'm scared of but it isn't necessarily the be-all and end-all. We are quite purposeful, forward-thinking people, so we needed wind in our sails in order to progress.
"She makes me very happy [and] I think I make her very happy. I want children. I've said that before. I will have children, but you'll have to wait."
Despite his high profile relationship and royal connections, James has tried to carve a path of his own with his customised marshmallow business Boomf, which recorded double losses this year.
He previously spoke of his frustrations at being labelled 'Kate Middleton's little brother'.
"Yes, it does get frustrating," he responded in 2015 when asked about being the Duchess of Cambridge's little brother.
"I work incredibly hard, just like every other person. And aside from the fact — yes, I am the brother of someone very important — I am, at the end of the day, just James."
