Kate Middleton and Prince George enjoy festive day out at local Christmas fair
Kate Middleton and Prince George enjoyed a mother-son day out at a local Christmas fair.
The Duchess of Cambridge and her 17-month-old son visited a market at London's Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park in low-key fashion.
The adorable toddler was dressed in an all-white outfit as his mother proudly carried him along to the festivities and remaining largely undetected by the crowds, thanks in part, to Kate wearing a baseball cap to hide her face.
According to onlookers, the too-cute heir to the throne got an early Christmas gift with a spin on a teacup ride.
And Kate only allowed one turn in order to avoid too much attention.
"George was smiling and laughing as they went 'round and 'round together," an insider told People. "He was really enjoying the ride with his mom. You could see it in his little face – he looked so happy.
"They only had one go on the ride, and then off they went. Kate was so polite and normal looking. I don't think anyone even noticed that they were there."
The Duke and Duchess are currently spending time in their four-storey apartment at Kensington Palace before making their way to their Norfolk home where they will celebrate Christmas, breaking from royal tradition.
While the couple and their son George will be expected at the Queen’s Christmas Eve supper at her estate at nearby Sandringham, and on Christmas Day they will attend church and have lunch with the rest of the Royal Family, they will be free to spend the rest of the holiday period at Anmer Hall.
"William spoke to the Queen about doing their own thing, especially since Kate has been suffering with acute morning sickness. He thought it would be nice for her to have a low-key Christmas. The Queen agreed," a source told British magazine Grazia.
"Kate, William and George will join the royal family on Christmas morning before parting ways until Boxing Day. They will rejoin on Boxing Day for the annual shoot."
Catherine and William married in 2011, and the pair have previously spent the festive period with her family. Last year it was reported that William enjoyed Christmas so much with the Middletons, he's introduced a more fun element to royal proceedings.
