Justin Theroux's friends reportedly don't expect him to "make it down the aisle" with Jennifer Aniston.

The former Friends actress and 42-year-old actor have been engaged for almost two years after he popped the question on his birthday in August 2012. Since announcing their plans to wed the couple have been the centre of reports surrounding their relationship, with Justin's pals said to be doubting whether he will tie the knot with his fiancée.

"Justin's friends tease him about being 'Mr Aniston'. They hate that he's not been on any of their boys' trips since be proposed to Jen and think he's totally under her thumb," a source told British magazine Look.

"None of them expect him to actually make it down the aisle - they just don't see him as the marrying kind. He was with his ex, Heidi Bivens, for 14 years without marrying. The fact there have been so many delays with Jen, usually because of him, is no surprise."

It seems Jennifer's friends are also concerned she is making the wrong decision. These include her former co-star Courteney Cox, Chelsea Handler and Sheryl Crow.

"None of their friends are supportive of this relationship. Some of Jen's girlfriends have even tried to talk her out of marrying Justin. It caused a rift in the Aniston-Theroux network and, while Justin brushes it off, Jen can't help but take it to heart."

Last month the pair made their first red carpet appearance together in nine months, putting on a public display of affection for onlookers.

When quizzed on their nuptials, Justin told reporters: "We're still happily engaged."
