Jonathan Rhys Meyers and wife Mara Lane jet to Peru for family holiday with baby Wolf
While those of us in Ireland brave icy temperatures, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his wife Mara Lane flew off on holidays to sunny Peru.
The Cork native (40), who is one of Ireland's best-known actors, took his other half and their baby son Wolf for some downtime in the South American heat, proudly sharing pictures of their trip on social media.
"We went to Peru for the first time. J has been wanting to go for a bit and we got a window of opportunity," Mara said.
The trip was made all the more special for the couple as it came just as they celebrated their son's first birthday.
Wolf, who was born in December of 2016, is the couple's first child.
Mara described the day he was born as "the best day of both of our lives" and said it had been an extra-special day as Jonathan assisted in the birth.
Speaking about Wolf, Mara said: "His heart is most beautiful to me. He is super kind and shares with everyone and has a wicked little sense of humour. He just loves everyone but also loves his alone time."
Mara and Jonathan spared no expense for their trip and stayed in the five-star Casa Cartagena Hotel and Spa in Cusco.
Far from being just a sun holiday, they also enjoyed some cultural pursuits, including a visit to Machu Picchu.
Jonathan and Mara have been busy jet-setting of late as they enjoyed a trip to Norway before heading to Peru.
Mara's Instagram account, which she shares with her husband, gives fans a window in tho their lives and she regularly updates followers with updates about the couple and their little one.
She has posted several snaps of her and the actor looking cosy, including one taken on the set of the upcoming The Aspern Papers, which was filmed in Venice.
In the photo, the pair are seen holding their son as they kiss, with Mara saying they had been reunited after "six weeks too long" apart.
The couple also seem to be on the move back in Los Angeles, where they have lived for several years.
