Jim Carrey expected to fly to Ireland for Cathriona White's funeral
Jim Carrey is expected to attend the funeral of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White in Ireland.
The Hollywood actor is reportedly planning to travel from LA to the small village of Cappawhite in Co Tipperary to pay his respects.
Make-up artist Cathriona (30) will be laid to rest next to her late father Pat, who died of brain cancer in 2012.
The Mask actor has been left "devastated" after her death last week. In a statement, he said the news of her death was akin to being "hit with a lightning bolt", and described Cathriona as "a kind and delicate Irish flower too sensitive for this soil".
Attending her funeral in Ireland will be a last act of devotion to the woman he loved, sources said.
"He has been in touch with Cathriona's family and they want him there," a source said.
"They know how much he meant to her."
Carrey was seen last week at Cathriona's LA home with her sister, Lisa.
They spoke for a while before Lisa was pictured leaving the property with a number of boxes.
Cathriona was found dead at the property last Monday following a suspected drug overdose.
The couple, who had been on-off since 2012, broke up five days before Cathriona's death.
She reportedly mentioned Carrey in a suicide note, and reports suggest she may have taken his prescription medication.
US authorities confirmed that the empty pill bottles found at her bedside were made out to an alias used by Carrey, which is not unlawful in California when a person is concerned about their confidentiality.
