Jennifer Lawrence nude photos leak hacker will be prosecuted

Jennifer Lawrence’s spokesperson vows the hacker found responsible for her nude photo leak will be prosecuted.

The actress, as well as Kirsten Dunst, model Kate Upton and others were reportedly the target of what’s been dubbed “one of the biggest celebrity hacking scandals in recent memory”, according to Variety.

The outlet reports links to several provocative images of the stars were uploaded to a popular image-based bulletin board-style website.

Jennifer’s spokesperson slammed the person or persons responsible in a statement issued to the trade publication on Sunday, calling the offence a “flagrant violation of privacy”.

“The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” her representative stated.

Lea Michele, Victoria Justice, Kristen Ritter, Yvonne Strahovski, Bar Rafaeli and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, were also reportedly among those affected by the breach, with the latter taking to Twitter to blast those taking advantage.

“To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves,” she wrote. “Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked.”

Early reports also suggested Ariana Grande was among those targeted. However, a representative for the star denied the claims, telling “These are fake.”

Such a case against celebrity photo hackers is not unprecedented.

In 2012, Christopher Chaney was sentenced to ten years in prison after he was found guilty of tapping into the accounts of dozens of celebrities and leaking nude photos online, according to the Los Angeles Times.
