Jennifer Lawrence finally breaks her silence on Chris Pratt affair rumours
It's always entertaining when Jennifer Lawrence is on the promotional trail.
The 27-year-old actress is currently doing press to push her new film Red Sparrow, a Russian spy thriller, and has been delivering in every single si-down. While in London, she she was asked by KISS FM about the weirdest rumour she heard about herself, which she says was whispers she had an affair with Chris Pratt, her former Passengers co-star.
Pratt and his ex-wife Anna Fair announced their split after 10 years in 2017, and Faris previously admitted that the Oscar-winner apologised to her for the rumours and they made her feel "s***ty" as it was before they even broke up.
"I never had an affair with Chris Pratt on Passengers. That’s a good one...," she said. "I mean, they got a divorce like two years later and everybody was like, 'Jennifer Lawrence!' And I was like, 'What the...what, I’m in Montreal two years later'."
In her 2017 book Unqualified, Faris said seeing pictures of her husband with the actress made her feel "insecure" even though she knew nothing was going on between them.
"I didn't want to pay attention to the stories, but I couldn't block them all out, either," she wrote. "I'd always taken pride in our relationship, and the coverage, even though it was just false rumors, was making me feel insecure."
"Jennifer and I really are friendly, and she was apologetic even though she didn't need to be, because she hadn't done anything wrong. She's awesome, but of course it's hurtful and also embarrassing when people are saying your husband is cheating on you, even if it's patently untrue.
"You still feel, and look, like a fool."
In another candid interview with Marc Maron's WTF podcast, Lawrence also touched on her romantic life and revealed she's still in love with ex-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky, whom she dated after filming wrapped for mother!, the horror in which she starred. And she said there were sparks between them from the beginning.
"He flew in, pitched me, left," she recalled. "The whole thing was probably an hour and a half, and then I was like, 'He's hot'.
"I remember I was holding my dog and I shut the door and when the door shut I went, 'Pippy, that’s called sexual tension.' He played hard to get for like nine months, maybe longer, which just killed me.
"I was in love with him for, like, two years. I still love him very much."
She previously enjoyed a high profile relationship with actor Nicholas Hoult, whom she met on the set of X-Men, and dated one and off for three years.
"I think it's because I'm blunt," she said. "I don't think that you can have any sort of bad relationship with anybody if you're just blunt. Everybody always knows how you feel at all times and there's no lying, it's just honesty. Everybody's a good guy to each other.
"All my boyfriends have been wonderful. Nick was a great boyfriend."
"My heart breaks every time I go through a break-up... (but) they (ex-boyfriends) just never did anything to, like, devastate me. They were just good people. Maybe that's also the secret - I'm attracted to good people."
Meanwhile, she revealed last week that she left school at the age of 14 to pursue acting full-time and describes herself as "self-educated".
"I dropped out of middle school. I don't technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated," she said.
"I struggled through school, I never felt very smart," she told Bill Whitaker on 60 Minutes. "[But] when I'm reading a script and I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way, that was a whole part of my brain that I didn't even know existed, something that I could be confident in. And I didn't want to let it go."
