Jamie Dornan opens up about newborn baby in rare chat about his family life
Jamie Dornan has opened up about fatherhood and taking a break from acting in a rare chat about his family life.
The Northern Irish star welcomed his second child with wife Amelia Warner in February, and said fatherhood is “the most magical thing in the world."
“I’m a young father and I want to spend time with my kids so they come everywhere with me, which we can afford to do at the moment before they start school," he said on This Morning.
The 34-year-old said Dulcie (two) “loves” being a big sister to the newborn, whose name and sex have not yet been released, and “wakes up and wants to see the baby instantly.”
The Fifty Shades of Grey actor has recently finished filming the second film in the novel-based series, Fifty Shades Darker, and admitted that he’s looking forward to taking a break from acting to spend time with his family.
“It’s a break with two kids under two!” he said.
Dornan revealed that he found his rise to fame from starring in the erotic film a burden, but said that he simply moved on to his next project.
“It can be [a burden], but that’s just one job.”
“Granted, the majority of people know me solely for that, but to me or any actor that is involved in any franchise, it is just another job and you move on to the next thing.”
Dornan, who also starred in BBC drama The Fall, admitted that acting wasn’t always his career of choice and previously worked in a pub.
“I was modelling first, then worked in a pub,” he said.
He also admitted that he “wasn’t a good student” in school and he knew he “didn’t have the right attitude to work in an office environment.”
Dornan's latest film Anthropoid is released in cinemas on the 9th of September, while Fifty Shades Darker will be released in February 2017.
