Izabel Goulart stuns at Venice Film Festival after being 'cut from Victoria's Secret Fashion Show'
On to the next.
Brazilian supermodel Izabel Goulart (32) showed no sign of despair at reportedly being cut from this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as she sauntered around Venice for the city's annual film festival.
Izabel, who has worked with the brand for 11 years, is not an official Angel and is still required to audition for the annual show, which is taking place in Shanghai this year. Goulart has been a staple since 2006 alongside Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio (both 36), who are both expected to retire after the 2017 show.
But the Brazilian bombshell looked completely at ease as she arrived in Venice and on Wednesday night, in a glittering gown by Alberta Ferretti at the premiere of Downsizing. She is among a number of those affected by this year's cull as the brand is attempting to inject fresh life into the presentation. In recent years, the show has moved from New York to London, Paris and now Shanghai and it was recently criticised for featuring 'social media supermodels' Gigi and Bella Hadid.
VS regulars Shanina Shaik and Bridget Malcolm also won't be appearing, while Kendall Jenner, who walked in 2015 and 2016, won't be appearing due to conflicts with her lucrative contract with lingerie rival La Perla.
And it's a return of some familiar faces - Karlie Kloss confirmed she will be returning to the runway two years after hanging up her wings. Her big reveal isn't that much of a surprise though as the blonde beauty was spotted leaving the brand's headquarters in New York last Friday, triggering rumours of an appearance in this year's catwalk extravaganza.
Hailey Baldwin, a model best known for dating Justin Bieber and some work for Tommy Hilfiger, was invited to the casting but also didn't make the cut. This year's new crop of faces includes Roosmarijn de Kok , Amilna Estevao and Georgia Fowler.
But one Angel whose wings are safe are those of Irish supermodel Stella Maxwell, who was pictured looking runway ready after her fitting outside Victoria's Secret's New York offices on Monday, indicating exactly who had landed a coveted pair of wings.
The 27-year-old, was unveiled as an official 'Angel' in 2015, and has become one of the brand's most bankable names since, namely because of her stunning good looks and Hollywood romances which keep her in the headlines.
