Jonny and Laura Sexton have become parents for the first time.
The Irish rugby star and his wife of one year are celebrating the birth of a little boy, who arrived two weeks early today, Independent.ie has confirmed.
Born at 7lbs, the new arrival came as a surprise for the couple, but all are happy and healthy.
The high profile couple have named their first born Luca.
The Sextons, who are based in Paris, confirmed Laura's pregnancy in February.
Last month, he said he would be tempted to return home due to his growing family.
"They (Racing Metro) are keen to get talking now and I've said, 'let's wait until the end of the season'," he previously told the Irish Independent.
"It's a family decision now, we've a baby on the way, me and Laura, and it's very much a case of 'let's see how that goes' – having a kid here and not having grandparents, aunties and uncles to look after it.
"We'll just have to see how that goes for the next few months, all being well, touch wood, we'll see what the options are then.
Jonathan and Laura first met in Rathgar Tennis Club in Dublin when they were just 13 years old.
The couple tied the knot last July in an intimate ceremony in Adare, Co Limerick, days after Sexton returned from duty on the successful Lions tour of Australia.
They exchanged vows in the 13th-Century Holy Trinity Church, with dozens of fans waiting outside to cheer them on, before returning to the nearby Adare Manor for a lavish wedding reception.
