The Irish producer at the centre of the Jeremy Clarkson 'fracas' has received death threats from fans of the show.
Oisin Tymon, the producer whom Clarkson allegedly punched, broke his silence on the incident today, saying he loved the programme and praising Clarkson's "unique talent".
"I respect Lord Hall's detailed findings and I am grateful to the BBC for their thorough and swift investigation into this very regrettable incident, against a background of intense media interest and speculation," he said in a statement after it was confirmed that Clarkson's BBC contract was not being renewed.
"I've worked on Top Gear for almost a decade, a programme I love.
"Over that time Jeremy and I had a positive and successful working relationship, making some landmark projects together. He is a unique talent and I am well aware that many will be sorry his involvement in the show should end in this way."
However, outraged fans of the controversial host.
"Clarkson should have killed you Oisin Tymon, filthy bastard," one write.
"I literally want to go on a hunting spree for Oisin Tymon and just randomly punch him in the face. Anyone up for that?," another said.
"Oisin Tymon...hope you'll get screwed for the rest of your useless life," said another.
