Presenter Sile Seoige is expecting her first baby with her Garda partner Damien O'Farrell, Independent.ie can reveal.
Her happy news today comes just shortly after she spoke about getting the all-clear, five years on from her battle with thyroid cancer.
"I'm just over the moon, really. I'm nearly four months gone now. It's all happening at the right time," she said.
"Getting the news that I've come out the other side (from cancer) and it being five years now. Everything is just going better than I could every have imagined."
The well-known presenter and voice-over artist (37) announced her news, which she describes as a "blessing" at a photocall today at the Everleigh Gardens on Harcourt Street.
She looked glowing as she sported a loose-fitting top and posed for pics for the launch of the 2017 Clearbraces.ie Smile awards which take place in May.
And the star, who has retrained as a Yoga teacher, joked how she certainly has lots to smile about, given her happy news.
Two weeks ago saw her sharing the good news about her been given the all-clear from cancer with her Twitter followers, calling her health all-clear a "gorgeous moment".
"Hearing 'all clear' from your oncologist five years (and a bit!) on from your cancer diagnosis, is a gorgeous moment. So happy and thankful," she wrote.
"Thank you all so much for the love! Feeling very lucky. Grá mo chroí sibh."
The Galway native was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2012, and previously revealed that yoga helped her immensely during and after her battle.
The gaeilgeoir has been in a relationship with Cork Garda Damien O’Farrell for two years, following her divorce from RTE producer Glen Mulcahy in 2008.
