'I'm nuts for this wonderful country' - Julia Louis Dreyfus visits Cork after her cancer treatment
Iconic tv actress Julia Louis Dreyfus wants to share her love for Ireland from the rooftops.
The Veep star (57) has been traversing the country on holidays over the course of the last week and has been sharing pictures from her trip on social media, with the most genuine enthusiasm. The eight-time Emmy winner is recovering from treatment for breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with in September, and after a sun-soaked trip to Hawaii, she made her to our little island for some R&R.
Excursions, alongside her husband of 31 years Brad Hall, included biking in Bere Island, Co Cork and a Drombeg Stone Circle, and she has clearly fallen hook, line and sinker for the Rebel County.
"I’m nuts for this wonderful country. And the lovely people who live in it. #amazingireland," she wrote alongside a selfie in the countryside.
"Drombeg Stone Circle. Turns out the Druids knew what they were doing. Amazing Ireland," she added to another.
"Colorful Ireland. I absolutely love it here," she captioned a picture of her posing alongside some colourful houses.
Earlier this week, she was in Dublin and made a visit to see the Book of Kells at Trinty College, dined at Michelin star restaurant Chapter One and naturally, tucked into Dairy Milk while staying at the five-star Merrion Hotel, the preferred destination for visiting celebrities and dignitaries.
In February, Julia revealed she underwent surgery and a month earlier, had completed numerous rounds of chemotherapy.
"One in eight women get breast cancer," she told her Twitter followers last year. "Today, I'm the one."
"The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union," she added.
"The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality."
