'I am worried I will be judged' - Maia Dunphy on returning to pre-baby weight after just 4 days
Maia Dunphy has revealed it took her only four days to return to her pre-baby weight after the birth of her baby Tom.
Tom was born to Maia (39) and husband Johnny Vegas (45) just 11 weeks ago and Maia is as slim and trim as ever.
However, speaking to the Irish Daily Star's Chic magazine she said is worried she will be "judged" over that fact.
"Motherhood is competitive and birth is too and I am worried I will be judged," she said.
"I always worry. There's always something that p***es people off and I don't have a very thick skin.
"At the same time, when you have a baby you become far less introspective. I care a lot less now."
TV presenter Maiai, who worked throughout her pregnancy, planned a return to work after just one month.
She recently filmed two episodes of her latest documentary series, 'Truth About...' tackling the topics of Pregnancy and the New London Irish.
Having moved from Ireland to live with Johnny in London and give birth to Tom all within the last year they're topics of which she has first hand experience.
She is currently still jetting over and back from the UK to Ireland to work. However, she has said she may have been "naive" about how easy it would be.
"I think I was a bit naive because everyone said you need 10-12 weeks of doing nothing to let your brain settle and after four weeks I was back trying to work and do the accounts," she told Chic.
She added, "If I was to do it again I would have taken at least 10 weeks off. But when you're a freelancer you can't afford to take three months to find your feet as a new mum because your job is not safe."
