History repeats itself, as Prince George wears dad William's same outfit from 1984
For today's appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen's birthday, Prince George wore his dad's outfit from the 1984 birthday parade.
Prince George has made his first official appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, aged 23 months.
The balcony appearance is a royal tradition, and generally follows the Trooping The Colour ceremony.
The ceremony was to mark the Queen's 89th birthday.
This was the first time the Queen and three immediate heirs – her son Prince Charles, grandson William and great-grandson George – have appeared together in public, all decked in their finery.
Over 1,000 soldiers took part in the traditional display below, as George waved to the gathered crowds.
For the big moment, George was dressed in a pale blue romper suit that his dad, Prince William, wore for his own iconic moment in 1984.
Today also marked Kate's first public appearance since the birth of Princess Charlotte, six weeks ago.
