'He's a mini me!' - Liam Payne gushes to fans about son Bear
Liam Payne has opened up to fans about his son Bear, saying that the youngster is a "mini version" of him.
The One Direction star welcomed Bear with girlfriend Cheryl in March, and told fans at B96 Radio in Chicago about the two-month-old.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "Liam also said Bear was a mini version of him with Cheryl’s eyes."
The 23-year-old also reportedly revealed that Cheryl had the final say on their son's moniker.
"He said that he’s really into traditional names and Cheryl is really into outlandish names," claimed another fan.
"But he didn’t even fight about it because Cheryl was the one doing all the work."
One month after Bear's arrival, Liam confirmed the unusual name in response to a tweet by Bear Grylls.
"Great choice! Love & blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure," wrote Grylls, to which Liam replied: "Thanks man hope he grows with an ounce of your courage! Your [sic] a boss".
A source recently told The Sun that Cheryl and Liam "wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name."
"They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth but they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him."
Cheryl and Liam aren't the only British celebrity parents who have adopted the name Bear. Actress Kate Winslet and her husband, Ned Rocknroll, named their son Bear Blaze after he was born in 2013.
The wild moniker has also spread to America - Clueless star Alicia Silverstone named her boy Bear Blu after welcoming him into the family in May, 2011.
Meanwhile, on the heels of becoming a first-time dad, Liam is preparing to revamp his music career, as he's set to release his debut solo single Strip That Down on May 19.
He will be following in the footsteps of his bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles, who released his debut solo offering, Sign of the Times, last month.
