They are set to present us with the royal wedding of pop culture.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s star-studded extravaganza has finally arrived and the larger-than-life couple needed more than one country for their nuptials.

Last night saw their lavish wedding rehearsal at the Palace of Versailles in Paris and today, wedding guests jet set to Italy for the main event.

We give you the top 10 things you must know about the glamorous affair.

1. Location

The couple spent $400,000 to rent the historic Belvedere Fort in Florence, Italy for their big day.

The 16th Century fort was built to protect the city, ruled by the famous Medici family and is peppered with priceless works of art dating back to the 1500's.

Wedding guests will enjoy a panoramic view of Florence and the surrounding Tuscan hills.

The Palace Of Versailles had denied Kimye permission to marry at the former residence of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette so they opted for their second choice.

2. The guest list

Some 600 people are expected to attend the lavish nuptials, including a host of famous faces.

Power couple Beyoncé and best man Jay-Z will attend, along with designer Rachael Roy – allegedly the woman at the centre of Solange Knowles’ infamous elevator brawl with her brother-in-law.

Tennis ace Serena Williams, singer John Legend and rapper Q-tip will also witness the famous couple exchanging their vows.

The original guest list consisted of 200 people, which accelerated greatly as the media fixated on the wedding of the year.

3. The dress

Kim is rumoured to be wearing a $2 million designer wedding gown as she walks down the aisle.

The bride-to-be had her final fitting for her top-secret dress earlier this week.

US Weekly believes she has chosen between designers Azzedine Alaia, Givenchy and Balmain and is likely to make multiple changes throughout the day.

4. Weight lost

When she gave birth to her daughter North eleven months ago, the mum vowed to lose 55lbs before the big wedding.

Just two months after giving birth, she was reported to have lost around 30lbs due to the Atkins diet.

Despite losing 50lbs in post-baby weight by last November, she told E! ‘‘I think I still have about 10 pounds to go’’, giving a total weight loss of 60lbs.

5. Privacy

The couple have reportedly turned down offers of up to $1 million for their wedding photos despite a feisty bidding war.

According to the Daily Star they have issued a contract which ‘‘bans guests from uploading anything on social media, taking pictures and even talking about the big day with friends and family who weren't invited to the wedding’’.

The usually-open Kim tweeted, ‘‘We are not filming our wedding for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. You will see everything leading up til and maybe even photos. As much as we would love to share these memories, privacy is our main priority.’’

The couple have been in talks with US Vogue editor Anna Wintour to discuss a magazine spread.

6. Kanye the wedding planner

The extravagant details of the wedding seem like the work of a Kardashian but Kim was said to be in the dark about a lot of the finer details until yesterday.

She previously described her fiancé as a ‘‘perfectionist’’ and Kanye is believed to have organised most of the wedding to surprise Kim.

The ‘‘groomzilla’’ set the final touches at the venues in Paris and Florence.

He ensured Kim stayed away from the internet and social media so none of his wedding surprises were spoiled.

7. The Menu

Guests will have plenty to feast their eyes on but what about their tummies?

Florence-based Galateo catering company will handle the food for the Kardashian-West wedding, under the supervision of top restaurateur Giorgio Pinchiorri.

The company is known to specialise in Tuscan cuisine, along with Greek and Mexican food.

They also catered at a 400-person gala dinner for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

8. Not really a family affair

Kim’s aunt – sister of Kris Jenner – refused her invitation to the wedding stating, ‘‘I've been to Kim's weddings, two of them, and I've been to Paris.’’

The reality star offered to buy her aunt a ticket so she could attend her marriage but 55-year-old Karen Houghton from San Diego declined.

However she hasn’t lost faith in her niece telling Mail Online, ‘‘I think this one's going to work. I think it's going to be more than 72 days!’’

9. Performers

Singer Lana Del Rey entertained wedding guests during a tear-jerking performance at the Palace of Versailles yesterday as she is Kim’s favourite singer.

Her song 'Young and Beautiful' played when Kanye proposed to the reality star and therefore they chose ‘‘their song’’ to be performed at the lavish rehearsal.

The tune was also performed by a brass brand when Kanye popped the question in San Francisco on Kim's birthday on October 21 last year.

The couple have kept the public in the dark about performers for the actual wedding day in Italy.

10. Champagne

More than 1,000 bottles of champagne are on hand for the large number of guests.

Kim and her best friends went through 15 bottles alone for her bachelorette party.

She was sent the shipment of Veuve Clicquot bubbly to her room before the gang headed out to dinner at the Hotel Costes in Paris.
