Hollywood actress Dame Helen Mirren surprised guests at a glitzy awards bash with a joke about her private parts.

The Oscar-winning actress was at a ceremony attended by the likes of Naomi Campbell, Amanda Holden and Claudia Winkleman when she made the quip.

Host Graham Norton had joked that he could not receive an award at the Glamour Women Of The Year ceremony because he had a "c**k" and US singer Adam Lambert went on to make a similar comment.

When The Queen star Dame Helen got to the stage at the end of the evening to receive her Glamour icon award, she joked that being lauded as an icon was "weird" adding: "If I'm an icon this year, by next year am I kind of de-iconised?"

She then sparked laughter from the A-List audience by continuing the theme, saying: "Anyway I do have a real c**k...a psychic c**k!

"I do, I mean I love my vagina.... but maybe it's that that's got me here, I don't know!"

She said that she was "so proud" to be a member of the female sex.

Dame Helen, who was presented with the gong by Ryan Reynolds, added that she was looking forward to the ageing process.

"40 is good, 50 is great, 60 is fab and 70 is f***king awesome," she said.
