'He would have been the one' - Jennifer Aniston reveals her first love died of a brain tumour
Actress Jennifer Aniston has revealed her first love passed away from a brain tumour at the age of 25.
The Cake star, who is nominated for a Best Actress award at Sunday's Golden Globes, said that she fell for her first boyfriend in her early twenties, whom she regrets not appreciating more.
She said that her love interest, who she did not name, would have been "the one".
"He was my first love — five years we were together," she told the New York Times in a new in-depth interview.
"He would have been the one. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all."
In the interview, she is also grilled about the tabloids' ongoing fascination with her, her ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, which she tackles shrewdly.
"It’s ridiculous — that the two names have to go into the same sentence and there has to be a compare-and-despair thing,” she said.
And when asked about Angelina Jolie's unfavourable portrayal in the Sony email leak, she responded: “I don’t want to give any fuel to the fire."
Aniston is currently campaigning for what she hopes will be her first Oscar nomination, which will be announced on January 15th.
She is engaged to actor Justin Theroux for more than two years and said they haven't settled on a wedding date as they are determining what kind of ceremony they want first.
