Paul Walker’s younger sibling Cody has described his brother as “a great example”.
The Fast & Furious actor died in a car crash in November 2013 at the age of 40. Despite his continued grief 18 months on, his younger brother Cody is doing his best to remember all the great things about his sibling after his life was cut short.
“[He wasn’t] just the car guy," he told People Magazine. "He loved cars, but he had so many different passions, so many different loves. [He was] multi-faceted, [an] adventurer, spontaneous, obsessive-compulsive. He was a really great example for me."
While Cody is a paramedic, he has stepped into Paul’s shoes to continue his legacy by becoming brand manager of his disaster relief organisation Reach Out Worldwide. It was a cause that the actor held close to his heart and his brother is doing is best to make sure it continues to make a difference.
“Aside from acting, his daughter [Meadow, 16] and ROWW were the most important things in his life, hands down," he explained at a recent ROWW fundraising event. "He was very proud of ROWW and the incredible people he had surrounded himself to make up that team. I'm just doing the best that I can to keep his vision consistent."
Working on the organisation has helped Cody see how many people treasured Paul when he was alive. The 26-year-old is continuously touched by the outpouring of love his family member has received since his death.
“Paul was a huge movie star, and I think really what I didn't realize about Paul that I've since learned, is how loved Paul was to this scale," he confessed. "Everyone that ever encountered him, he had a way of just talking to people and just making everyone – regardless of whether he just met you or not – feel like you were the most important person in the world."
