Styles has been generating buzz since his cover was released earlier this week with snippets from his big sister explaining that he was always hellbent on becoming a global superstar - even when he was just performing for the family dog Max.
It's his first major solo magazine cover since 1D went on "hiatus" last year and marks the beginning the of the next chapter of his career, including an acting role in upcoming WW2 flick Dunkirk, and it all started when he sent the publication's creative director a message asking to feature.
"He just messaged me and said, ‘I want to do something with you,’ and so I felt like I had to give him the ultimate Another Man treatment, the whole experience, to do it properly," Alister Mackie said.
"It became immediately apparent that there was so much more depth to him than to your regular boyband star, so we thought, let’s make it all about him."
