Gwyneth Paltrow approves of J-Law
The actress and the Coldplay frontman, who have two children together, announced last year that they were "consciously uncoupling".
Now Hollywood star Gwyneth, 42, has opened up to US shock jock Howard Stern about moving on.
When asked how she felt about Chris dating someone she doesn't approve of, "like J-Law?", Gwyneth said: "Who says I don't approve?"
She added: "I respect him as the father of my children... It's his decision... He wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."
The star said of her current relationship with Chris: "We laugh and we have fun but there are times when it's really difficult.
"Things happen and you're like, I'm sure he doesn't want to hang out with me and I don't want to hang out with him but for the sake of the kids, you do it. But you also don't do it all tense.
"You say, 'I really want to find the love for you and I want to forgive you and I want you to forgive me and let's have some fun as a family'."
Gwyneth also opened up about her former relationship with ex-fiance Brad Pitt, saying "he was too good for me!" and that her late father Bruce "was so devastated when we broke up" as he "loved him like a son".
She joked that it was a pity they hadn't made a sex tape.
"Do you know what's so sad? Is that (our relationship) was before the days of videos on your phones so we had nothing!"
Asked about why the couple broke up, she told the US radio show: "I was such a kid. I was 22 when we met. It's taken me until 40 to get my head out of my a**."
Gwyneth described actress Cameron Diaz and music power couple Beyonce and Jay Z her best "famous" friends.
Asked about the famous footage showing Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles lashing out at Jay Z after the Met Gala last May, she said: "If any of my friends ever have anything like that, I call right away."
