Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell getting a double Hollywood Walk of Fame star is the sweetest thing you'll see today
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell showed off public displays of affection as they unveiled their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The movie stars, who have been together for three decades, held hands, hugged and kissed throughout the ceremony and at one point, as Goldie lay next to her plaque, Kurt kneeled down beside her and went in for a passionate smooch.
The couple was honoured for their extensive careers by Reese Witherspoon, Quentin Tarantino, and Goldie's daughter, Kate Hudson.
Reese, who was wearing a badge with Hawn's image on it, delivered a touching tribute during the ceremony, explaining she had trouble sleeping knowing she would be standing next to one of her heroines.
"I just don't know where to begin with the amount of excitement I have had since 6.30 this morning," she told the large crowd. "I had to go down and make an 'I love Goldie' button because I am literally her biggest fan. Really, I mean it.
"I can't believe Goldie actually texted me about a month ago and asked me to be here. (It's a) huge honour, and I hope it's not weird that I printed out a text and I framed it and I put it on my wall."
"The first time I ever fell in love with a movie star, it was Goldie Hawn," she added, telling fans she was struggling with her emotions.
"Her characters had such a huge, profound effect on my career... Since the first time I saw her onscreen, Goldie has just inspired me. She's taught me to want more out of my life, out of my films, and she taught me to want more out of my career. And I became a producer because of her. She changed the possibilities of what women can do in films, so, thank you, Goldie."
Reese went on to thank her "idol" Goldie for "inspiring women and actresses to control their own destiny" and for "inspiring women to demand respect, no matter where they are or what they're doing".
Hawn was thrilled to be getting a star alongside her longtime partner, telling news show Entertainment Tonight, "It's really kind of great... It's kind of a celebration of the two of us!
"It's been such a long time since we ever did anything like this."
Both Goldie and Kurt have big films set for release - he will star in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, which opens on Friday (05May17), while Hawn will make her big screen return as Amy Schumer's mother in the upcoming Snatched.
