IN THE days of super information highways, apps smartphones, etc, it seems the traditional newspaper is the go to destination if you are planning to get hitched.

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has become the second celebrity after Benedict Cumberbatch to announce her impending nuptials in the sedate columns of the 'Times' newspaper.

She has revealed she is engaged to marry Formula One team principal Christian Horner, 40.

The 42-year-old's announcement follows that of Sherlock star Cumberbatch, who placed a similar notice in last week's paper letting people know of his engagement to theatre director Sophie Hunter. Halliwell's notice reads: "The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs GM Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr LF Halliwell and Mrs A Parkinson." No wedding date is included in the announcement for Halliwell and the Red Bull racing team boss.
