Aidan is with his wife and daughter in hospital today, but will have to turn his attention back to the dance show for Sunday night.
Despite welcoming a new baby, he has indicated that he will still be performing on the programme this Sunday as it enters its final stages.
He’s due back at rehearsals tomorrow to hook up with his partner Valerie Milova, to prepare their performance to Cake By The Ocean by DNCE.
Aidan, who is from Killarney and works in Tralee as a Garda, has already spoken about his excitement about becoming a father.
"I have a lot of nieces and nephews and it was always great to give them back after a night of babysitting, but now we are going to have our own baby together," he said.
"There are very exciting times ahead and the dancing is taking my eye off the pregnancy a small bit, but I am really looking forward to fatherhood.
"There comes a stage in your life when you really want to start a family. Denise has been very supportive and she's been out to see me dancing during her late stages of the pregnancy."
Aidan, who's down to the last five contestants on the hit RTE show, recently revealed how he was on stand-by waiting for his wife to give birth.
He said that Denise had been a rock of strength to him for the past few weeks as he proved his dancing prowess on the dance-floor and it was now his turn to support her.
"I think she is really enjoying it and is has been a distraction for her for the last two months, so the next couple of weeks, she is going to take priority instead," he said.
The delighted couple have been inundated with messages from well-wishers this afternoon, including programme hosts Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne.
"Sending so much love and luck to this guy Aidan and his beautiful wife Denise, who are about to become first-time parents!" wrote Amanda.
Meanwhile, this weekend's show will see the addition of a 'ballroom blitz marathon' as the competition to win the glitterball trophy continues in earnest.
In this special dance-off, all five celebrities will take to the floor for a three-minute Jive, only to be eliminated one by one by the judges.
The last couple remaining will receive the most points - which will then be added to the amount of votes given to them by the public.
