Former RTE star Diana Bunici denies engagement to Kodaline's Steve Garrigan...despite the sparkler
TV presenter Diana Bunici has hit back at reports that she and Kodaline's Steve Garrigan have gotten engaged.
The TV star and author (27) described as "silly rumours" the speculation that the hunky lead singer of the Dublin band had gone down on bended knee.
She sparked speculation about their relationship after being spotted with a sizeable sparkler on her ring finger recently.
Speaking from their home in London, she said they had no news to report on the nuptials front.
"It's not true. It's silly rumours," she told the Diary.
But it clearly is a case of puppy love between the celebrity couple, who have been dating for over two years and live together when Steve is in London.
They recently put up snaps of their gorgeous white Cockapoo puppy, which has been named Bowie as a tribute to the late musician.
Things appear to be going from strength to strength between the pair, who met through mutual friends back in 2014.
The Moldovan-born star and Steve recently came back from their first long-haul trip to Bali, where they posted a string of romantic shots from the Indonesian island.
The 27-year-old musician has also been a huge support to Diana in recent months when she released her first book, The Pursuit of Awesome.
Despite chart-toppers Kodaline being mid-way through a European tour, he made sure to jet into Dublin just to attend her launch party.
Her first book saw her interviewing a host of stars including Rory McIlroy and Hozier for their top tips on how to have a happy life and achieve your goals.
Clearly smitten with her other half, the former Elev8 presenter said that he's not your typical rock star.
"He's really nice and humble and quite shy and doesn't have an ego about him - he's not as you would imagine a rock star to be," she said.
"He's just an amazing guy who is extremely talented and works really hard and is in a band that's successful."
The former RTE presenter said that what he did for a living wasn't a factor when she first met him as she didn't give his star status a second thought.
"When I meet someone I don't judge him or her on their status or if they're famous or their job. If I get on with them, I get on with them," she said.
The down-to-earth star, who moved to London a year ago, admitted that she hadn't even heard of the chart-topping band before she went out on a date with Steve.
