EXCLUSIVE: Rory McIlroy isn't dating Meghan Markle as she enjoyed Dublin with boyfriend
Romance reports first began buzzing around the famous friends after he participated in her Ice Bucket Challenge in August and they were spotted enjoying a dinner together in Dublin on Saturday night.
However, Independent.ie has learned that Meghan is in a relationship with a Canadian chef for several months, but the pair have been keeping their relationship out of the spotlight.
Her beau even flew to Ireland to be with her during her work with One Young World last week and they were loved-up behind the scenes.
The rumour mill went into overdrive after the world number one was spotted enjoying a meal with the tv star at Dublin's Fade Street Social over the weekend. And while McIlroy prefers to keep us guessing about his personal life, Meghan is smitten with her culinary love.
"He flew to Dublin to be with Meghan during her time here," an insider revealed to Independent.ie
"They're madly in love, the two of them were sewn at the hip the entire time they spent in Ireland."
McIlroy flew home last week, but it was nothing more than a coincidence that the pair were in town at the same time.
He has been linked to Irish models Sasha Gale and Nadia Forde since ending his engagement to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki in May and has not commented any romance reports.
It's only fitting that he would spend more time in Ireland as he recently bought a house in his native Holywood, Co Down.
News of McIlroy’s recent purchase comes just two years after he put his former Northern Ireland home up for sale with an asking price of £2m.
The 14-acre estate in Moneyreagh boasted five bedrooms, a gymnasium, and, naturally fitting for the sports star — a golf practice area complete with a putting green and driving range.
He had bought it three years previously but sold it because of increasing overseas commitments.
McIlroy also has a luxury mansion in Florida — where many thought he was relocating after selling the Moneyreagh home.
