'Every day is Valentine's Day in our house' - Ali Hewson gushes over husband Bono after 35 years
Everyday is as romantic as Valentine's Day for Ali Hewson and her husband Bono.
With 35 years of marriage under their belt, U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson are one of the most long-standing couples in the entertainment world.
Childhood sweethearts Bono and Hewson met at Mount Temple school and "officially" became a couple when they were 15 years old before tying the knot seven years later.
It appears that keeping the romance alive is the secret to their decade spanning relationship, with Hewson telling Independent.ie Style that the couple, who have four children together, celebrated Valentine's Day and do so every year.
"Every day is Valentine's Day in our house," she said.
When asked if the pair did anything special for the day, Hewson laughed: "Of course. We'll leave it at that!"
Speaking at the RHA gallery at the launch of her niece Leah's third solo art exhibition, Hewson said Leah is "one to watch."
"We love Irish art. I think it's our favourite art beyond anything else. Irish writers, Irish painters... Maybe it's because we're Irish, but I don't think it is. I think it's because they have an incredible ability to translate themselves into their work. There's an honesty that comes across in their work."
"Leah has that beautiful joy with that little bit of edginess in her work, and it's amazing what she can do in painting. Her energy comes off the canvas. Not just that she's a relative of ours, but I do think that she's a very talented painter."
