Elton John's mum hires lookalike performer for her birthday party, following family feud
Sheila Farebrother booked 'Ultimate Elton' for her 90th birthday party, instead of asking her famous son to entertain guests.
Elton and his mother have not talked since 2008 - after she made a misjudged comment to his husband David Furnish.
The star, real name Reginald Dwight, has not made contact with his mum since the incident, and neglected to attend his stepdad's funeral in 2010.
To celebrate her 90th birthday, Sheila declined to invite her multimillionaire son to the festivities.
Instead, Sheila kicked back to the sounds of copycat singer Paul Bacon - who performed Elton's hit track 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart'.
Bacon was joined on stage by legendary singer Kiki Dee (68) who sang the original alongside Elton (64).
Kiki said: “Sheila’s 90th birthday was a really special evening. It was wonderful to see her on the dance floor having a brilliant time with so much love around her.”
Asked at the weekend if she had been contacted by Sir Elton, she reportedly said: “No.”
The award winning singer is currently embroiled in a public spat with fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, over controversial comments they made about children born via IVF.
