Congratulations are in order for actress Michelle Dockery and her boyfriend John Dineen.
According to The Sun, the couple are set to wed.
An insider told the paper that Michelle has excitedly been showing off her diamond ring during screen tests for the popular period drama.
“She looked over the moon and was showing it off to all of the cast and crew” the source claimed.
“It’s wonderful news and everyone is delighted. She and John make a lovely couple.”
Michelle (33) shot to international fame playing Lady Mary Crawley in the lavish period drama.
She is thought to have started dating John in 2013 after being introduced by her co-star Allen Leech, who plays chauffeur Tom Branson.
“Michelle is happier now than she’s ever been,” the source continued. “She knows that this relationship is for keeps and she is so excited.
Despite being loved up with Irish financial PR John, Michelle isn’t immune from becoming a fangirl when in the presence of A-list stars.
Her role in Downton Abbey means the actress is a regular at awards shows, and she’s previously been nominated for a Golden Globe and three Emmy awards. However it’s seeing other celebrities that gets her most excited.
"Being in the same room as actors that you've watched and loved for years is exciting. Award shows are fun, but they're something I'll never get used to," Michelle previously told British magazine Grazia.
"P. Diddy was at the [Golden] Globes and saw our table and waved. I was like, 'Oh my god! Sean Combs is coming over to say hello!' He was just amazing. Things like that will happened and it's surreal."
The 21st Century's all very well, but nothing soothes the mind like a little period escapism. And it's that time of year again as Julian Fellows' televisual crack cocaine, Downton Abbey, returns this month after the interminable summer wait. First-world problems just seem so charming when viewed through its antique filter.
