Oscar winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis is notoriously private, but his son took to social media to share a snap of the family on top form.

Daniel’s oldest son Gabriel shared a selfie with his famous dad, mum Rebecca Miller and younger brother Ronan.

“Buckingham selfie! What an amazing day spent with beautiful people. I'm so proud of you for your knighthood dad, as is your country. You never cease to make me proud,” Gabriel captioned the photo.

Daniel, the only actor to ever win three Academy Awards, was knighted in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Friday.

The 57-year-old actor was honored for his services to drama, and Prince William administered the traditional two shoulder taps.

The notoriously private star said he was "entirely amazed and utterly delighted in equal measure" to receive the honour.

He has won Oscars for My Left Foot (1989). There Will Be Blood (2007) and Lincoln (2012).
