Dane Bowers to be sentenced for assaulting beauty queen ex-girlfriend Sophia Cahill
Former Another Level singer Dane Bowers is due to be sentenced for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The 35-year-old hit beauty queen Sophia Cahill in the face during a "sustained attack" at his parents' home, a court heard.
Ms Cahill said Bowers unleashed a violent attack in which he grabbed her by the shoulders, threw her out of a bedroom, hit her in the face, giving her a bloody nose, pulled her hair and squeezed her throat.
He denied a charge of assault by beating but was convicted at Croydon Magistrates' Court in south London in September.
District Judge Andrew Street said he was "not ruling out the possibility of a prison sentence".
"I am satisfied that he assaulted her in the manner she described," the judge said.
"It was a sustained assault, causing her injuries, that took place in the presence of her two children."
The court had heard the incident in January happened after the former Miss Wales quizzed him about why he had glitter on his face.
The couple had already split up but were living separately in the home they shared with Bowers' parents in Croydon.
Bowers, who is on conditional bail, is due to be sentenced today at Croydon Magistrates' Court.
