Dame Helen Mirren has given us yet another reason to love her.

The Oscar-winning actress, master of subway etiquette and bikini babe, said what most of us are thinking about the Kardashians - she doesn't like them personally, but she can get on board with what they're doing.

“When I was growing up, it was thought to be unbelievably sluttish to even have a bra strap showing. Everything was about women conforming. I love shameless women. Shameless and proud," she told the Telegraph.

"Women were controlled by being shamed. I love women who have claimed their own bodies: Madonna, Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett, Bonnie Raitt. I love Pussy Riot more than anything in the world. They all raise their middle fingers to this epithet of ‘slut’. They wear what they want to wear, behave as they want to behave.'"

She added that Kim Kardashian mightn't be her cup of tea, but said that she is changing female body image for the better.

"I’m not into the Kardashians, it’s a phenomenon I just don’t find interesting, but – and this is the big word: B-U-T-T – it’s wonderful that you’re allowed to have a butt nowadays... Thanks to Madame Kardashian, and before her, J-Lo. We’re also allowed to have thighs now, which is great too," she added. "It’s very positive."

Meanwhile, Kim recently said she doesn't understand how critics are still shocked at her nude selfies.

In conversation with podcast Recode Decode, hosted by Kara Swisher, she said: "I truly was baffled when people still cared. They have seen me naked 500 times!

"My personality has never been, 'I’m such a feminist and follow me and be naked!

"If you are conservative and that’s how you are comfortable, more power to you. I respect you. You don’t have to look at what I do."
