Cricketer Graeme Smith to become a father again - two years after leaving Irish singer wife Morgan Deane by text
South African cricketer Graeme Smith is expecting a child with his girlfriend, nearly two years after leaving his wife Morgan Deane via text message.
Deane, who hails from Cork, was well known in Ireland for being one fourth of pop group Industry with Michele McGrath and Donal Skehan.
In February 2015, news broke that Deane and Smith were set to divorce. The pair met in January 2011, when Morgan was holidaying in South Africa and he proposed during a visit to Ireland three months later.
The former Eurovision singer said she was heartbroken to find out her husband was cheating on her when she received a text by accident which he had intended to send to his legal advisor.
"I didn’t realise how serious a decision I was making when I got on that plane to come here and get married. Love is a funny thing," she told South Africa's You Magazine at the time.
"I sacrificed everything for my family and my marriage."
The couple have two children together; Cadence (three) and Carter (two).
Now, Smith has moved on from his former marriage with girlfriend Romy Lanfranchi, whom he has been dating since early this year, according to reports in South Africa.
According to a statement released by the couple, both are "delighted about the prospect of being parents again and having a future together."
Both have two children from previous relationships.
Meanwhile, Morgan still lives in Cape Town, despite her intentions to return to Ireland full-time last year.
