Cole joins fair trade fashion event
Model Lily Cole injected a bit of glamour into politics by taking part in a debate about fashion and fair trade.
The star, who was recently recognised at the Elle Style Awards for her campaigning work, joined a panel debating how more could be done to help the garment workers making many of the clothes sold on the high street.
Cole, who made her acting debut in the 2007 comedy St Trinian's, joined others including MP Mary Creagh and Dilys Williams, p rofessor of fashion design for sustainability at London College of Fashion.
The panel, which met at Portcullis House opposite the Houses of Parliament, also included Catarina Midby from high street chain H&M and Jenny Holdcroft from the IndustriALL global union.
