The remaining I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! campers faced a live Bushtucker Trial after the shock departure of Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews "on medical grounds".

Presenters Ant and Dec made a quick reference to the surprise exit in the opening minutes of Friday's episode.

Ant said: "We should tell you that Spencer has unexpectedly left the jungle and he won't be returning to this year's camp. Unfortunately, there's nothing more we can say on that."

When the news broke, a statement on the ITV I'm A Celebrity website said: "Spencer Matthews has left the jungle. We're sorry to see him leave."

Matthews, 26, was due to enter the main camp at some point, having been stuck in Snake Rock since viewers first saw him on screen in Wednesday's episode.

He took part in Bushtucker Trial Dicing With Danger alongside fellow late entrants Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison and also participated in the tough challenge Bush Scrabble.

The reality TV personality had been due to take part in the live Bushtucker Trial alongside the rest of the celebrities but the head to head team drinking competition Cocktails and Screams went on without him

Lady Colin Campbell (dubbed Lady C), Tony Hadley, Kieron Dyer, Ferne McCann, Vicky Pattison, Chris Eubank and Duncan Bannatyne played for Croc Creek.

Snake Rock - which would have included Matthews - comprised George Shelley, Jorgie Porter, Yvette Fielding, Susannah Constantine and Brian Friedman.

A celebrity from each team took a seat above a dunk tank and they had to down a vile concoction before their opponent to avoid a dunking.

However Lady C and Friedman could not be dunked on medical grounds so when the author lost, she was instead covered in cockroaches.

The drinks included sex on the beachworm (blended worms), bull-inis (blended bull testicles), bloody hairy (blended tarantula) and gore-berry daiquiri (blended emu liver).

The live Bushtucker Trial passed without a major incident, although Geordie Shore's Pattison was mistakenly dunked despite finishing her blended camel penis drink before Hollyoaks star Porter.

Croc Creek easily won with 12 points compared to a mere six for Snake Rock who must now face the Trailer of Torment.

Porter, Friedman and Lady C had earlier lined up for Bushtucker Trial Every Critter Counts.

Ant and Dec said the winner would swap places with someone at Croc Creek, while the two losers would return to Snake Rock.

The trio had to count a variety of critters using different parts of their body.

Lady C won and was told she could banish someone to Snake Rock, immediately choosing Hadley.

However, when Friedman and Porter requested Shelley, she agreed.

The Only Way Is Essex's McCann suggested romance could be on the cards with Union J's Shelley during a chat with Geordie star Pattison.

"I really like him, like, really like him. He's really affectionate and tactile and always up for having a cuddle," said the Essex star.

Dyer and Shelley competed in a head to head challenge. The pop star won and selected Constantine and Fielding as the Croc Creek camp mates he wanted in Snake Rock.

I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! is broadcast at 9.40pm on Saturday.
