Top actor Cillian Murphy has shelled out a cool €1.7m on a home in Monkstown in south county Dublin.
The house was being sold by Sherry FitzGerald on Belgrave Square North.
The estate agent described the house on its website as being an "elegant and comfortable home".
However, it's not known whether the 38-year-old actor intends to live with his family in the property or whether it is purely an investment.
He married artist Yvonne McGuinness in 2004, and the couple have a home in north-west London with their two sons Malachy and Aran.
His new Monkstown period pad was built around 1863. The protected structure is an "excellent example of a Victorian terraced residence," according to Sherry FitzGerald.
"All of its magnificent original features remain intact," its website stated.
The original fireplaces are still in many of the principal rooms. The house has six double bedrooms as well as a drawing room
The Corkman made his breakthrough in Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later and has gone on to work with Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception and Christian Bale in Batman Begins.
